The Lensic Performing Arts Center, which has been a cornerstone of downtown Santa Fe since 1931, is a historic and popular destination for performing arts in Santa Fe.  In 2001, the beautiful Lensic building, which features a graceful interior and stunning exterior in both Moorish and Spanish Renaissance style, was transformed from a movie palace to a state-of-the-art performing arts center. Upcoming performances worth seeing include a series presented by The Lensic and the Santa Fe Opera called The Met Live in HD.  The two performances in November are Carmen Encore and Il Barbiere Di Siviglia.  This November, the Lensic and Wise Fool New Mexico will also present the 11th annual Circus Luminous, a popular Thanksgiving Weekend tradition featuring local acrobats, clowns, and aerialists.

Another extremely popular performing arts group in Santa Fe is the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, which features top global choreographers, distinctive groundbreaking works, and exquisite dancers. In January 2014, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet joined forces with Juan Siddi Flamenco Santa Fe, lending even more diversity to their stunning performances. Steeped in the Southwest’s heritage, Juan Siddi Flamenco Santa Fe brings must-see year-round performances to its home theater, Santa Fe’s historic Lensic Performing Arts Center.  Coming in December will be Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s annual rendition of The Nutcracker at The Lensic. With ballet, flamenco, Chinese silk dancing and even an aerialist, this show will no doubt create lasting memories and become a new favorite holiday tradition.  No matter which performances you choose to see, Santa Fe’s performing arts scene will leave a lasting and memorable impression.  There’s always something new to see and enjoy in Santa Fe, so book your room at our Bed and Breakfast Inn today.
